Today marks the beginning of my final few months at University. Today also arks the day of the beginning of my Final Year Project (FYP). This is my FYP Proposal. My main focus in this FYP will be narrative and story.

There are 2 main games I will be researching to help me with this project. Gone Home and What Remains of Edith Finch. Gone Home's mechanic simplicity adds so much to the narrative because you are not so overwhelmed and can simple concentrate on the events that are happening around you. What Remains of Edith Finch is a stellar example to story telling through environment. As you walk through this house and go into the various family rooms, you get a feeling of how these people were simple because of how their room looks. I want to make sure that this is heavily prevalent in my work.

The unique selling point of my game is that with every playthrough you will experience the same events but with subtle or sometime to so subtle differences. There will be a personal story of love that will drive the player through the game however there is a overarching story of morality and end of world events that the player will be fed throughout the experience.

My short term goal is to have the script 100% done by the end of February. So I can cast voice actors for dialogue in game.

The next week I will be starting my script. I will be creating the story and narrative with a friend of mine, Adam King.
